LWX velocity scans are picking up 40-50mph winds around and passing the radar site (under 500ft) heading east.
Looks like they are broadbrush warning the entire line. Entire metro severe t'storm warning.

Wow I just can’t catch a break today. The portion of this line that was going to hit me seems to have collapsed right as it got here, with a pronounced outflow boundary followed by almost instantly triggering a pretty serious new chunk in its wake (after it was long past me.) Immediately got a severe tstorm warning too.

That looks absolutely stunning on the high res velocity playback. I was watching that area as the gust front propagated out and triggered this - all happened very quickly.

Yep. We probably needed a combo of this coming through during daylight, and also more breaks in the clouds during the day...and less crapvection. Perhaps any combo of two would have worked.

Lights are flickering here and they don’t do that often. This wind is top tier, even for the Frederick wind factory.
