That's not some webcam, that's someone (you?) standing there taking that pic?  As I've gotten older, and become very aware of how slim those  barrier islands are, the just the idea of going down there when it looks like that brings on a panicky feeling.

Looking at the radar, looks like the city might be getting a couple hours break from the rain till around lunch time.  Few smaller tree branches down in my area and leaves everywhere.

Yea I went to Freeport and then Robert Moses.

All other things being equal, we don't see nearly as many downed trees these days in my opinion because we've had basically a culling of the herd since 2010.

2010:  That extremely rainy March event that had just enough wind to take out a ton of trees

2011:  Hurricane Irene:  Again a good amount of trees down

2012: We know

2020: Isaias, at least around here.

The above time frame literally changed the landscape.  There just aren't a lot of vulnerable big trees left.

yeah. like me. that year i just turned 34. didn't have kids yet and had been married a year. just got tenure, the golden handcuffs. hairstyle for me was already moot, as i was already in the chekov combover mode.....note, koenig was hired for star trek because they wanted a beatles/monkees look to appeal to younger viewers......

The pressure analysis for the storms been a little wonky was them out went up for a for our 2 now its lower again.

Suffolk is still by far leading the outages in the area with 10K although that’s still not too bad on a % basis (1.6%). 

Nassau has 5.5K/1.2%.

Total in NY state: 23K

NJ: 31K with highest # in Ocean Cty at 8K (2.5%) although highest % in NW NJ’s Warren Cty (5.4%)

CT: 14K with highest % of 4% in E CT

Delays are currently much shorter on avg vs last evening at LaGuardia, when they were nearing 3 hrs…maybe then will turn out to be the worst of it??

Back bays and side streets under water here in AC from what I see from my hotel room. The route i usually leave on is closed/under water. Ocean hasn’t budged much still up on the dunes. Had some strong gusts over night that woke me up im currently on the top floor from my hotel(48th floor).
