    Harrisburg in December 92 had 6 inches..strong winds off the warm Atlantic in mid December didn't help the coast. Actually it did change to snow at the end and Long Island which got an inch

    I guess your hyping a 97-98 winter, which makes sense with the enso.An active Southern jet with little cold air to tap. Inland sections away from the coast did do ok that winter, but probably the worst winter for the coast. It took Spring to get a snowfall, 5 inches in March.Nothing is granted to stone though.

    I expect it to be warmer than what Euro is showing.

    3-4 cools off to neutral by next June on CFS. Are you saying el nino will continue into 27-28? Or something like 83-84 with a weak Nina?

    All winter we surely going to have this discussion. There will be storrms, but will it be cold enough?.Your gonna say perfect track but there is no cold air.

    I've come down to the realization this is gonna be a warm winter. Now do we get a major snowstorm like Jan 2016? or get shutout like 97-98? Actually here in Central PA(didn't live here at the time? 97-98 wasn't that bad.

    80's for one day in early October isn't earth shattering..overall a cool pattern starting next weekend.

    86-87 was a moderate el nino..Mid Atlantic did very well with snowfall..87-88 was a weak el nino at it warmer than normal..the 88 with a strong La Nina

    I think the reason we prefer 1983 is a blizzard in February l...1998 had 0 snow in NYC until March 22nd when 5 inches fell and that was it. So basically in 97-98 it didn't snow at all till the Spring.

    1983 went into a moderate Nina in the fall...1998 it went into a strong nina in the Spring. Both had warmth continuing at 1-2 for a while.

    Very rare occasions will it hit 80 in October and 80 in November is unheard of.

    Many here last week were promoting mid to upper 80's for Weds and Thursday.

    I do think we'll see some fall like weather next week with temps in the 60's to near 70 and rain chances as autumn arrives
