dan11295
Current storm motion is really bad for Fort Myers, puts them in the SE eye wall, plus all the surge.

It looks really bad, but I take what Siedel says with a grain of salt after watching him "struggle" in wind while people walked behind him. He may be telling the truth, hard to tell. 3 15

The difference here isn't much though, like a foot and a half Thanks for clarifying. The pic was labeled 12:54 PM and the caption said, "...more than 7 hours before high tide...", seemingly not quite correct. And the small tidal variation in most of the Gulf would mean only a tiny benefit of a low-tide LF.
kat5hurricane
The shots from Ft. Myers are mindblowing. How high is that surge cam? It's about to be engulfed.

Hotair
If I’m right, the peak storm surge in the area of LF is still yet to come when the SW eyewall starts coming on shore

MN Transplant
Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach were always in trouble. I’m more curious about what is happening behind the barrier islands. Especially in the very dense residential areas of Cape Coral. 2

Yea that would be a big deal in savannah area. They don’t get hit often by canes and one that hits at a right angle is especially unusual. Probably lots of vulnerable areas even in a cat 1. 4
