Most all is green in my area of Frederick. Oddly enough have a few trees that are struggling to leaf out from bud stage on the tree line behind my house. Where I noticed the lack of rain is when mulching my front beds yesterday with my perennials the dirt is dry and compact.

Looking back my station logged 2.52” for the month of April. On the 1st 0.38”, 5th 0.73”, 19th 0.47”, 25th 0.22” and on the 29th 0.59”.

Glorious day today though. Out on the deck eating lunch. Wind is a bit wild though and thinking the table umbrella needs to come down. Stalking DC weather for Saturday as the older Ms. J is graduating from college. Graduation is indoors but would be nice for a bit of sun. She is in the 9 am graduation slot. 

I'm wondering at what point do we call our area the New Windy City?  I'm surprised at the low dews today...was thinking it would be a humid 80 with the rain chances tomorrow.  It goes to show how quickly we can flip flop between dry and humid.

Coverage looks good, but intensity is relatively weak.  Garrett Co looked like they were in a good spot and they have all of 0.15” per the mesonet.

Nice little rain event this morning! Only 0.01" in gauge at 7 am, but close to 0.10" since then with light rain continuing to fall. Currently 57.3/54.0.

Yellow-with-dots-of-red area in Fairfax County came out of nowhere on radar; an hour ago it looked like light rain with a gap to the SW.

Giga-Nino is going to eventually crush the drought and wash away the barren ground of our yards after all the grass dies, dries up, and blows away in the next 3 months before the Nino kicks in.

Seems tonight was always going to be the 'main show', such that it is. Maybe a quarter inch instead of a few hundredths.
