The tide is already high. I drove past the Belt Parkway this morning and the waves were crashing against the rocks and onto the walkway.

Marinas are nightmare right now. Shark River is not going to fair well.

While GRAF is likely overdone, I do think we likely see 75+ mph wind gusts not too far offshore of NJ.

I don't see any High Wind Watches or Warnings for any part of New Jersey at all (which is a crime).

All of the NJ coast up to Monmouth County (e.g. NWS Mount Holly's territory) is under a High Wind warning:

The 0Z Euro ens increased the chance of “tropical cyclone activity” off the Mid-Atlantic coast during the weekend to its highest yet of any run and the highest possible, >90%! Yesterday it wasn’t as high for the weekend as it was peaking at ~80%.

Tides are flying up today!  At 854 approaching action stage with highest tide all week so far! High tide isn't too 945 am... minor flooding pretty certain this morning..

This is obviously a much weaker storm but the convective nature of it should help to maximize the rainfall (fresh water flooding) and wind threat along the coast.

Trees snapped in half rather than uprooted bc the tree line wind was ripping but the ground was rock hard and didn’t have efficient mixing to surface in gusts.

That looks opposite with this one.

I’m in Union county NJ in a flood zone.  We got destroyed by irene I had 6 feet of water in my basement from 10 inches of rain .    I would never wish that on my worst enemy.  Sandy ? Lost power for 4 days and had half inch of rain .  I would take that over getting flooded any day of the week.

I am honestly quite concerned that Upton is behind the ball and significantly downplaying the winds and coastal impacts. I would argue Long Island, not the Cape is looking increasingly like the overall bullseye.
