  1. May 2020 came very close in Central Park.
  2. Once again, Central Park is running several degrees lower then the rest of the area. Even JFK is running higher this afternoon! This gets worst every year and is an embarrassment at this point! The NWS should take away their classification as the official NYC weather site if the parks conservation isn't willing to either trim vegetation surrounding the sensor or move the sensor back to the pre 1996 site!
  3. NYC only reached 92! According to their main weather site! It didn't get too hot today!
  4. It is almost certainly higher than 92 in almost the entire borough of Manhattan except for the KNYC weather sensor.
  5. The entire city, except for eastern and south Queens is currently generally in the mid 90s! Central Park hasn't gone above 92! They were projected to be in the 95-97 range, today. Probably no other weather station in our area has underperformed today as much as KNYC has.
  6. Move the sensors in Central Park! It's going to another summer of the park running 3 to 5 degrees then the rest of the city!
  7. The usual warm spots will be 95+ next Tuesday. That's unusual for mid-late May! Most max record highs for our area in the month of May are between 95-99 degrees.
  8. I feel that it's time that we have a real serious discussion about next week's heat potential. Some places in and around the I-95 corridor could approach near record monthly high temperatures next Tuesday, if this air mass lives up to it's full billing!
  9. We might be heading towards one of our coolest May's since 1967.
  10. Perhaps the coldest morning, this late in the season, since 1997! Was there any record lows, this morning?
  11. So, Wednesday might be the latest in the season that Central Park has dropped into the 20s in nearly three decades! What wild temperature swings, so far, this spring!
  12. Likely some record lows on Wednesday morning before another big warmup, late next week. Central Park might drop into the upper 20s Wednesday morning. When was the last time, the park dipped into the 20s, this late in the season? Does anyone know?
  13. I was completely wrong in my March prediction. My saying that KNYC would not only average at least 5 degrees below normal with no temperatures higher then 56 degrees, looks laughable now!
  14. Rip! And Storm Field was a really good weatherman and personality.
