SnowenOutThere
Had a nice shelf cloud come through as I drove home. Made a pit stop by a lake to get some shots, but wish I managed to get to the Herndon metro parking lot roof to see the oranges/purples of the rain behind them. Surrounding area got 0.4-0.5 inches of rain which is the most we've gotten in a long time. Felt good to finally hear heavy rain again. 18

If you look at the reflectivity over my house you’d think that it was pouring. The high differential reflectivity and low differential phase indicates that there are large, but relatively few big drops. So, despite a radar that looks like below, I’ve had 0.07” so far in this batch. I’ll have to do some research on this. I’m definitely not using RadarScope to its potential. 55 minutes ago, SnowenOutThere said: Had a nice shelf cloud come through as I drove home. I was just noticing that... the radar estimations tonight... did not do great! Overcooked in a lot of places. Anyway... about 2/3" of an inch here. .4" of which fell in about 10 minutes.

dailylurker
It rained pretty heavily several times overnight. Definitely a lot more than I expected. I'm getting one last heavy downpour as I type. Great news!
nj2va
Picked up 0.6” yesterday, loved the ol’ fashioned thunderstorm at night. Going with a bold prediction that this is the start of the ‘un-droughting’ of the region. 1

MillvilleWx
I'm enjoying the cooler weather because the humidity is on the approach. I will say, it could be warmer, but I know what that means around here....all or nothing. 94/72 or 66/41. No in-between...UGH 2
IronTy
Driving home from piano today it seriously looks like September outside. The leaves are either drought stressed or just stunted due to the cold. Looks like late summer, not spring.

Too gloomy today…I’ll take 90 and sunny over this. We get enough of these days from November thru March.
Bubbler86
44 here now after a bone chilling, for end of Spring, 48 for the high today with wind chills frequently dipping down into the 30's. Summernista's had a tough spring (despite a few very warm days) and summer is only 2 weeks away now but they can fancy the next 4-6 days.
