Had a nice shelf cloud come through as I drove home. Made a pit stop by a lake to get some shots, but wish I managed to get to the Herndon metro parking lot roof to see the oranges/purples of the rain behind them. Surrounding area got 0.4-0.5 inches of rain which is the most we've gotten in a long time. Felt good to finally hear heavy rain again.

I’ll have to do some research on this. I’m definitely not using RadarScope to its potential.

Just got home from work and based on radar estimates, I’m disappointed to have .47” in the gauge.

I was just noticing that... the radar estimations tonight... did not do great! Overcooked in a lot of places.

Anyway... about 2/3" of an inch here. .4" of which fell in about 10 minutes.

Picked up 0.6” yesterday, loved the ol’ fashioned thunderstorm at night.  Going with a bold prediction that this is the start of the ‘un-droughting’ of the region.

I'm enjoying the cooler weather because the humidity is on the approach. I will say, it could be warmer, but I know what that means around here....all or nothing. 94/72 or 66/41. No in-between...UGH

Driving home from piano today it seriously looks like September outside.   The leaves are either drought stressed or just stunted due to the cold.  Looks like late summer, not spring.
