HP seems pretty potent, maybe shunting this a little further south? If this is the case does it retreat north?

With the clear skies to the west, a large part of New England was treated to an epic sunset.  Similar to an off short hurricane with a big cirrus shield.  Up here in Central NH it was high cirrus but as you got into the deeper moisture and virga I guess rainbows were an added bonus.? Enjoy your storm down there.  The Whites to my northeast should keep me in some type of orographic shadow as it usually does with strong NE flows.  Maybe this will be more easterly winds?  I will take any rain I can get.

Yes, I’ve been watching that too. 
We will see how the precipitation shield progresses or maybe there’s a little shunt East from the high-pressure.

Widespread 45-50 mph; but with the low-level jet racing just overhead I think you can't dismiss quite a few 50+ gusts; focused on southern third of CT; coastal plain and hills of northeast and northwest CT.  Playing with fire with that low-level jet making 2 passes over us... any hint of slightly destabilized low-level atmosphere, convective elements and it's off to the races. If the daylight hours Saturday stay mostly rain-free we could add some sneaky warming into the lower levels???  I know many setups under-perform, but there are some impressive items in play here.  Add fully leafed trees (heavy wet leaves), and things could go south quickly, unless everything shifts south.

It’s oddly warmer tonight than you’d think, I just looked at my station online and it’s still 60.3. Was thinking it would be like 52 or something. If tomorrow is mainly dry .. you would think some big rips . Most guidance pegs overnight tomorrow into early Sunday for strongest winds CT

The bands are like clockwork with any coastal. Likely repeated throughout the weekend.

The rain is on the doorstep…should be starting momentarily…but the wind is constant. Not normally like this here with most of these things.  Interesting.

There’s windy areas and not windy areas based on topography and wind direction. What that tells us is your area will do very well in this and theirs likely will not
