January 16-19th: Rolling the dice

Woke up to a minor dusting. Light snow the past 10 mins or so. Pretty and it wants to accumulate immediately but it's all doomed. 37 degrees.

We are so back to a normal winter. Mappy closing in on 3” while it’s 36° with bare ground here.

A little whitening on bare spots on the ground since we got very little precip. Was nice walking the dog while it was snowing lightly though!

Still snowing lightly and bands developing just to my west, but I doubt much more, if any, accumulation. Hope other. A touch over 1" if it's acceptable to use a car roof as a snow board.

For tomorrow, looks like things trended favorably for some snow back to I-95 and even some guidance going west of that! NAM Nest has actually been steady last few runs with its presentation. If it nails the thermals, this could be a sneaky good storm for the eastern shore. HRRR and RRFS aren’t as keen on it, but they are both outside their useful range. Just hope they aren’t on to something.

Oil tank is filled and while he was here restarting the furnace, the snow really started coming down.  I'm so glad because he was a big guy and that hole would have taken a long time to dig.

Oooh that's tasty.  My rage at watching these random tiny flakes melt on contact at 34F will be partially calmed if I get 2-3" like 3k NAM and FV3 are advertising tomorrow.
