It’s funny that’s one of the worst RPM runs for eastern areas of the last 6 runs

looks like somewhere in North central N.E Pa should see a foot of snow in 4 hours early tonite and that’s where the Jacks are .

I see wide spread 8-12 totals for SNE

MQE really looks good in this to me . I would go over 12” there .

The Hype around snowstorms are so laughable now.  A general 10-18  / 12-20 type storm would be considered “A pretty big snowstorm” when I was a kid.  Now the news and especially National News is “A Dangerous Life-Threatening Storm”.

Hide the Kids!  Put them in bubble wrap, for God’s Sake Save the Children!  Buy Groceries because the stores will Never Operate again!

What happened to people.  Find your damn ballsacks from pre-1960 and reattach.  (Not you guys)

Maybe a lot of people moved from further south.

Get in the basement.

Since i was a kid in the 95-96 era...earliest i can remember...the hype for snowstorms has always been there. I just think we have more mediums now to communicate that, social media and the twitters facebooks.

That will only last a couple of hours. The uber stuff. Better near ALB.

Hoping we can pivot that through but looks like the whole system starts to occlude and the band will start to weaken. Looks very close though. And as Ryan just said...700 low coming a bit north on NAM which is a bit of a concern too for sure.

12-16” is bad?

You have a consistently difficult time reading maps for Taunton .This was close but that’s 8-12 shading . And the RPM has been running a bit wildfor this one . Not HREF wild but high end of guidance .

Either way at least you stay below 32 . This will be fun

It’s 8-12 here... but close to 12-16” and much of eastern ma is 12-16”... I Toss the 20+ stuff... that isn’t happening and if it does... very isolated

I completely agree with you. The hype for snowstorms is off the charts. People would lose their minds if a storm similar to the Blizzard of 78 or Superstorm 93 was about to hit the area. In general people are "softer" now days.

In my humble opinion, the complaining about the over-hyping of snowstorms has eclipsed the amount of hyping that generally occurs. Sure the media can sensationalize, but I think a lot of it has to do with how much better medium/long-range forecasting is now - so these things have longer lead-ups. More advance warning is generally a good thing, especially since more people now live in suburbs and other areas where the kids can't just walk to school uphill both ways.
