1.85" of rain is my storm total so far, with 0.99" falling today alone.  It was very gusty this morning with 47 MPH peak reported at LGA but it finally seems to be dying back now to something more manageable.  Just waves of heavy drizzle and lighter rain moving through ever since this morning, even though the radar is struggling to depict that correctly.  Seems to be lifting north of Queens though so hopefully we get into the afternoon break.

Minor flooding again from high tides on hackensack river. 

Up to 1.75" of rain so far.  Coming down good again.  Winds dying down a bit.

Post Sandy PSE&G has been more aggressive with cutting back trees from the lines, especially transmission lines.  They also did a lot of FEMA money replacement projects of the transmission lines too.  Perhaps it’s paying off or it’s just pure luck the outages weren’t worse.

Lots of discussion over the last few days about how this storm should be classified.  No shortage of opinions from several respected Mets.  

These two X posts make the most sense to me.  It was shallow warm core and it did separate from fronts for a short time.  No matter what it was not your typical cold season Nor-Easter and was not purely tropical. Hybrid or Sub-Tropical designation seems best way to go IMO.

Came out for about 20 seconds in Queens.  It got noticeably brighter for about 15 minutes but it's back to gloomy for now.

Most of our infrastructure and trees is battled hardened. Going to take more than 55 mph winds to do real damage anymore. They replaced many older light pole with hurricane poles and trimmed trees.

just look at the radar - at 2:50 there is a large band of moderate to heavy precip heading towards the metro from the southeast over the Atlantic that will add at least a couple inches to the totals in Central NJ if it holds together

Lowest hourly SLP at reporting land-based station I found was 29.37” (994.6 mb) at Toms River, NJ, at 9AM and 10AM. Next lowest Atlantic City 29.39” (995.3 mb) at 11AM.

3.08” so far in my PWS which has trees to the NE so the reading is definitely a bit low. Another big time rain event, so many this year.

Really need gusts of hurricane force to cause widespread problems, leafed or not. Isais has gusts to 80 mph and that kinda seemed like the threshold for widespread outages. Even then it was only 50% of customers on the island

Just got back to rockland, got some damage over here but nothing crazy at some point we lost power. As far as AC once again back roads and the bay over top the area. Couldn’t take RT 30 to the garden state, had to jump on the AC Expressway.
