batmanbrad
measured about 1.5" on my deck railing, not as accurate as a snowboard measure, but considering a bit of compaction possible I'll take it! Wasn't expecting more than an inch up this far (NE Gaithersburg, close to Laytonsville)

wxdude64
OK, I called it. Sent a snow total report to NWS Blacksburg about 10 minutes ago. 1.5" on snowboard at 11 am, added to the 3.8" at 7 am, a 5.3" total. 5.0" OTG currently. STILL a few flurries and snow grains falling, but it isn't gonna add to the totals. I will say models and NWS did a good job here, forecast was 4-7". MOST models had us in 4-6" range, a couple outliners in the 6-9" range.
osfan24
Guessing around .5 here. Still alternating between flurries and extremely light snow but all paved surfaces have melted as sun tries to shine through.

mattie g
Really been coming down in Burke for the last 15 minutes or so in this last band. Kids got to play in the snow with friends and the pup, then headed off safely to school two hours late. Just a beautiful morning!

batmanbrad
one last band trying to move E/NE from Loudoun County, if it holds together could give much of Central/Southern MoCo a bit more accumulation in the next hour or so.
Solution Man
Still snowing, up to 2 inches, pretty good modeling. I am more than happy with the outcome. Nice to get on the board this early. NorthArlington101
Beautiful big slow falling flakes. I’m sure it’s adding to the total but think I’ve botched the measuring. Just enjoying it.

Since 1884-85, Washington, DC recorded an earlier first measurable snowfall in 52 (36.6%) cases than New York City. The most recent such case occurred during Winter 2023-2024. Since 2000, Washington saw an earlier first measurable snowfall in the following seasons: 2003-2004 2005-2006 2009-2010 2010-2011 2023-2024 2025-2026 5

katabatic
It's a winter day! Love seeing your reports. My Dad in Midlothian measured just shy of 3". And while nothing imby other than a few flurries dancing about, it's been a perfect day for Wisp's opening. Temps holding in the mid 20s. Love it.

Paleocene
Still snowing in Silver Spring; hasn't stopped since I woke at 545am and saw pixie dust in the street lights. Exceeding expectations here. I'll take a compacted measurement somewhere in the backyard, but my grass is mostly covered. Just tall blades poking thru.
