Snow growth has improved considerably closer to the dryslot. Absolutely choking flakes right now

Looks like some lift from 850mb fronto is crashing in to erode the northern extent of the dry slot over CT. IMO this is one of the first signs of how the coastal reflection is beginning to modify the overall structure of the system, which is attempting to consolidate dynamics towards vertical alignment. Looking downstream, BOS and points north should benefit.

EDIT: Just missed @ORH_wxman's latest radar update, only further affirms these processes

This is the best snow here in hours. We weren’t even necessarily getting better returns than the last few hours but the dryslot approaching is probably helping.

Burst back in Springfield should produce some solid returns

14-14.5" depth so probably 16 or 16.5" for the storm total. From a rate perspective there wasn't anything earth shattering but it was consistent and relatively long duration (about 15 hours) just some mangled flakes now. Good luck out east tomorrow.

The party ended at 4:45 in Newport. No sleet but the visibility improved and the accumulation basically stopped despite impressive radar returns. The pellets didn't begin in earnest till a couple minutes ago. Haven't measured but about 10 down here.
