They managed to slowly claw their way to 4”+ with additional redevelopment late evening….wasnt pretty and the best was north, but that allowed the event to still be decent there.

Long Island sound enhancement seems to have helped a bit.

Enough to cover the turkey shit.

1.1” here in Charlotte, VT.

1” would not be enough to cover the monstrous mounds of turkey crap my wife’s turkeys plop all over the yard whenever they drop a load.  The anatomical physics are hard to explain there.

Connecticut Snowfall Totals. This is just a first pass map, there will be a more complete one coming with a full SNE map when i get some time over the next day or two. If there are any additional reports or errors let me know and ill look into it and fix them. Thanks to everyone who sent a report. Overall the forecast was very solid. Pretty much everyone fell within the ranges and the ranges were appropriate for CT. A little too high for Hartford, Tolland counties but that's about it, ill have a full picture once all the maps are done but m feeling an A- ish.

I wouldn't say you were too high for Hartford county. Maybe north and northeastern Hartford county fell just shy of 6", southwest-southern Harford county were well within the range close to the high end of that range. Great job

I have friends of kids I coached in and around that area that don't report but all were 9.5-10.5", probably 6 so far of the people I know over there

Will give this a C+/B- forecast

The bad:

1. definitely was not far enough northeast with accumulating snow. Reason being I thought the drier air farther north and east would be a problem, which it was but not to the overall extent.

2. The re-development. I was not expecting much in terms of re-development but that was enough to give many an extra few inches.

3. snowfall rates ended up being more than I was anticipating. I was in the thinking of up to 2-2.5” per hour while the reality was 3-4” per hour. This was a big factor in going with 4-7” versus something like 6-9”.

The good

1. was happy with the fact that majority of the snow fell in a 3 hour window.

2. Was happy with the cutoff that occurred within CT between the heavier banding and when banding would begin losing some of its strength.

The one thing that was a bit surprising was the fact that once radar echoes reached me it started snowing at a good rate.  I thought I’d be fighting dry air but that seemed to be displaced 20-30 miles further north.
