Nice evening to be out watching the full-moonrise.  Not looking forward to the heat returning.

The heat that's returning doesn't look like anything abnormal. For my area it looks like 87-92 for about 5 days before the low 80's return. I'm glad there's no sign of 98/78 type crap. I'll take no rain from now until my cannabis plants are ready to harvest in October lol

Another nice day. Humidity a touch higher.

82/62

Getting bit outside working on the deck. Asian Tiger season now. Bastards are small but itch like crazy. Not many but just enough to find you, and as dry as it is they don't need much water to breed. Empty plant saucers etc.

You’d never know my yard had nearly 10” of rain last month…

Soil moisture levels here in the top 0 to 10 cm level have gone from 30 % on August 1 st to 22.77 % today.

The lawn still looks decent only because recent air temps have caused a lowering of soil temps from 82 degrees F. on July 30 th to 72 degrees F.  on August 9th.

With the heatwave starting, and little to no rain this week, lawns and vegetation will be stressed. Wonder if a we get a Sept return of last year with extreme dryness.

Today’s weather was on a different level. And the moonrise/sunset and moonset/sunrise has been fun. Definitely could use rain, but I’ve been enjoying the bike trails lately while we revert back to the semi-arid, steppe climate.
