Fishmn
40 hours into this storm. Still snowing. Moderately in Western Hunterdon Co. 25F. Almost over, calling for another inch or two. Currently 17" on the ground. Its very packed. We did end up having several rounds of heavy sleet for extended times during the height of the storm. Total sleet accumulation near 2" this packed the pack fown good. Another anomaly was 8" of fluffy snow in between sleet rounds. That 8" fell in 2 hours yesterday aftetnoon. I haven't seen totals from my town but 20 to 23" total seems safe but its hard to tell. Very fun storm. One of my favorites.

Nick Stefano who I am good friends with who you know as well has 22.5 on the ground on sparta Lafayette border and right near Newton as well . If, say, one cleared 7" from the board yesterday morning and then 18" more this morning, IMO that's 25" snowfall even if the depth is only 22". (And I'm a bit jelly with my 5.5" of teenyflakes and maybe 2-3 more coming. Also surprised that wdrag's map shows no obs from the NE half of Morris County.) JustinRP37
This storm really helped change the tune of this winter. Really nice snow for most of the day here in Tuckahoe. I wish the slop that we ended with could have still been powder, but beggars cannot be choosers. My wife even commented that I always seem happier in winter when there is snow on the ground. I said of course, it is bright and beautiful when there is snow.

As of midnight, we now have 16.5", as we got another 1/2" over the last 3 hours. Radar has quieted down, although models are still showing several more inches of snow being possible through tomorrow. We'll see. Got another 1/2" since midnight to bring me to 17.0", but I see many others who saw 1-2" not far away; 32F right now in Metuchen and snowing lightly. Does anyone have the radar loop for overnight - I used to use the RU weather site, but it seems to be dead right now. Thanks.

Another 4.1” on the boards this morning so by using the cleared board measuring method I got 19.5”. Using the measuring every 24 hours method it’s 17.7” but after all that there was a total of 15.5” on the ground when I measured this morning at 7:30am. This is a classic illustration IMO of how snowfall measuring is by far the least accurate weather record. 33 minutes ago, tamarack said: If, say, one cleared 7" from the board yesterday morning and then 18" more this morning, IMO that's 25" snowfall even if the depth is only 22". crossbowftw3
Started with 3” snow depth from last Tuesday, measured out 25” in three different spots so approximate final total is around 22” and still potentially delivering around another inch or two today. gravitylover
I don't know what to do with the measurement for this one. If I had a decent place to measure every 6 hours, the wind was insane, I probably would have had near 30" total. As it is my property goes from 2" > 40" with the median at 23" (at 7am). Since about 7pm it has been a mix of heavy wet snow, crystals, grains, freezing mist and nearly sunny so the compaction is impressive and its down to about 15" now. Total shoveling time (so far) is just under 10 hours, driveway banks are well over my head which is always cool, just waiting for the town plow to fill in the end of the driveway again when they come to move the banks back
