If we get 6+" then the sleet man this could be a fairly significant deal

anything over 6 is legit because you can use the word half foot

I’d say 6+ is a lock for Leesburg MOCo HoCo area. We’re getting shellacked. Going to be a horrid afternoon on the roads.

Pretty classic on the SPC site. Lead band now NE of DC is the good H7-H5 fronto give or take. Right on the 850-700 warm front trying to move in. Thumpity.

I was following that forecasted fronto last several days and basing my forecasted snow off of it. Models were somewhat jumpy on the timing and orientation, but settled in yesterday. Good to hear from you. From one Scott to another!! I’m enjoying watching all these posts from sunny, chilly Midland.

Roads caved so fast, makes you think even harder about the waste of tax payer dollars to pretreat roads.....rant over

Pre-treatment is only to prevent the snow from bonding with the road, which aides melt off post event.  It's not to keep the roads clear during the storm.

Seeing as precip is traveling west to east, you’ll be looking for a north movement and never find it lmao

I think some of you will never transition to sleet. You'll just stay snow and pile up, and pile up, and keep right on piling it up. Then, you can go outside and pile it up even more with your shovels lol

Temp has fallen all the way down to 27 in the heavy snow! Good lord. So saddening that we are going to lose our boundaries

Really lightening up downtown. Looks like 2 inches.  Roads caved earlier but salted streets now  quickly melting.

Latest HRRR looks great. Most of Central MD should approach half a foot.

Woah. That run tries to give me another 5-6 inches. Crazy.

Behind the fronto precip is showery, so flakes may be more rimed or even some IP. Will see what the next round of lift does, but warmer air aloft also trying to work in.

Look at radar to your west. You are about to get pummeled again!

Over 3” here. The rates between 8:00 and 9:00 were insane. On average since the snow started the rate has been over 1” per hour
