And the flooding will get worse. The storm pivoting into NJ will turn the winds around to pile water in from off the ocean for the south shore and NY Harbor. And models seem to have more rain if anything tomorrow. We're in maybe the 3rd inning here.

I dunno, I'm 1/3 mile N of the county line and it hasn't stopped raining for more than a few minutes all day. .8 so far. Steady wind, not as strong as expected but it brought down plenty of branches. More than nothing for sure.

West End of Long Beach by the bay was also flooded so far. Not sure how anyone can say we're dodging any bullet. I'd say it's a worst case scenario but it could be Irene-like by the end.

Not here at all. Just started raining again after a solid 5 hour break

Had two guys on a jet ski in oyster bay harbor this afternoon, when my son and I went for high tide coastal flooding.  Damn shame some people put their lives and the lives of others in harms way.

If they were seen walking into the water my thought was suicide maybe unfortunately.. hell 2 people died 1 week apart crashing into sunken meadow state park toll plaza past 2 or 3 weeks. They think it may of been intentional.. a lot of weird people out here lately.
