It has been a ho hummer heat wave up here at Pen Mar.  96 right now which is the highest of the season.   BUT I have seen 103 in Emmitsburg, 104 in Gettysburg PA and 105 in Lewisberry PA so some low landers, albeit it North of many here, getting a once in a decade or more heat wave today.

Just drove up to the Fredrick MD area. Car thermometer noticeably tracked the mesonet, with lower temps in the slightly higher elevations of MoCo, and then back up over 100 going down towards Frederick.

the 110-115 heat index numbers on back to back days is insane.  I don't remember this combo of 100+ and 70-75 dewpoints anytime recently.  The July 2024 extreme heat had dews in the 60s.
