I don't remember this smoke from Canada ever in my 46 years of life. Maybe the haze in the 90's was smoke? I'm definitely not saying it's some conspiracy. I'd like to know why now and never before. Or was i just not noticing it years ago?

Cloudy with thick smoke and 56

When I was a teenager in Central PA in the early 00s there was a a summer where we had really bad Canadian wildfire smoke - I think it was 2002. Here's an old paywalled news story about it: https://www.morningjournal.com/2002/07/08/smoke-from-canada-forest-fires-blankets-northeastern-states/

I agree with you and @WxUSAF that it seems to be more frequent post 2020.

There is an interesting branch of climate research that deals with this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrocene

So you're telling me there's not a cloud in the sky...but all of this overcast is wildfire smoke? Wow, lol

Smoke plume thickest at this time in our area,  but moving out in WV., so maybe some improvement later in the day, certainly once the winds shift to SW tomorrow. week.

I finished May with 7” of rain that’s the 6th time in last 60 years I have recorded that amount or more

The others since 1965 are 1989,2003, 2008(record of 10.2”) 2009 and 2018

One of the winters was warm, one average to mild, three cold. For snowfall  One was well below average , three around average, one historic.

lets see if those years  show up again in a different manner

Just a couple years ago we had this (in SoMD at least).  It was a lot worse and even mid day the sky was reddish and you could really smell the smoke.  I don't remember if the smoke was from Canada or somewhere in the US though.

Lol. I'm out of the summer touch at the moment. 84/62 is kicking my butt for some reason... probably due to the extended cool period. I'm screwed aren't I. :(

It takes a little adjustment, but this weather is so much more versatile.

I think there is enough evidence that BWI’s temps have been off since the tarmac was expanded a few years ago  not note that it’s more of a problem now than DCA

Funny thing is that I thought it was worse 2-3 years ago and then wasn’t as bad last year during the dry heat season.

I hate working in the heat. Today was rough because I'm not use to it yet. It felt kinda good though. I chose to work outside so it is what it is. I just schedule shorter days and take more breaks.

Shameless Plug:

Softwashing commercial and residential buildings.

Wood deck restoration .

Paver restoration

Stucco restoration.
