For non-tropical, you may well be right. Almost 5.2" in a single day. That blows away anything I've seen here in my time. 10

MillvilleWx
Obviously some of these stations are incorrect, but a majority did a great job capturing the event. The winner was down in the Central BR with over 7" for the primary event (Sawmill Ridge). Those RAWS stations are very reputable and maintained by the Forest Service. BWI at almost 3" is wild. It absolutely dumped buckets there last night.

MN Transplant
Looking at the 2-day totals on CoCoRaHS, there are a bunch of 4”+ readings, especially between Charlottesville and Winchester, Cumberland, and even one near Woodbridge/Dale City where the training set up nicely yesterday. CAMs are indicating that someone gets dumped on again today, but far less widespread.

Maestrobjwa
Sounds like an area-wide cutting the drought in half (with total obliteration in some spots). Nice!

Very impressive indeed !
Eskimo Joe
Looks like Garrett and Allegany counties got hit much harder than originally though. Pretty significant debris management operations ongoing.
Jrlg1181
3.02 total here... Everything just looks and feels fresher outside - plants gardens grass... 6 to 7 inch totals apparently just to my east by 4 or 5 miles along the spine of the Blue Ridge inside the Park..

Georges Creek which runs from Savage Mountain south to the Potomac at Westernport took out roads and bridges in towns like Barton and Lonaconing. Folks who live on the hillsides above those bridges are cut off with no way out except on foot. Tough for older folks.

Have not been outside today to see if it's the same as yesterday.

I am at 1.89" for a storm total.

Have not been outside today to see if it's the same as yesterday. There were some pretty solid indications of warm rain processes being intertwined with standard mid-latitude dynamics that helped create a pretty hefty rainfall footprint across the region. Not as connected today, but PWATs remain pretty high with IAD coming in around the 90th percentile for the daily 12z sounding. 2
