January 29-30, 2019 Arctic FROPA

Recommended Posts

Down to light snow here. That back edge is looming out by Deep Creek. Time to start tracking the temperature drop. Down to 28 here from a high of 32 today. Maybe another 2 hours of light snow left for me. Should hopefully get me to 2 inches for this event. You guys to east should snow through the rest of the evening. Enjoy!

Sidewalks caving in Gaithersburg.  Of course my appointment to get a new windshield is at 4pm so I'm about to get on the road.  Curious how the roads will look on my way back.

any kind of daytime accumulating snow in this area is a win.  this is gonna play in a role in my final grade.  extra credit type of a system lol.

Very very persistent area of dry air over Arlington/SE Fairfax/DC. Managed to get a coating, but now mostly melting. South, west, and north getting pounded.

Yup.  Pounded is the word.  It’s insane snow globe snow.  #lucky

Congrats. We had 10 minutes of that here and it was pretty incredible. I imagine that's what lake effect snow is like, those type of rates except for many hours.

Need the back edge to slow down. I hope it slows down like some of those fronts in the summer time as they approach the metro areas and just linger. So many times there is a line of rain and storms coming through during an O's game and they wait it out only to eventually postpone two hours later when it becomes apparent the line is marching forward super slowly.
