  1. My station is reporting 102 which seemed a little high until I looked at the Weather underground map -- widespread 100+ readings in eastern Fairfax and Prince William Counties. And I do live in a heat island.
  2. Woodbridge east of 95 is probably the most unknown heat island in our region, but one of the the worst. Right now it's 87/73 at 12:35
  3. 98/76 in the Woodbridge Heat Island... Heat index 113
  4. POURING graupel with thunder and lightning. 49 degrees
  5. C Pros - No sustained cold (this is a pro because I don't like cold without snow) - Really nice January and February events Cons - Slightly below climo (14.5") - Multiple marginal events which shafted me while giving areas as little as 5-10 miles away an inch or two.
  6. Based on what I saw along with local obs I'm going to say 3/8 was 0.5" making my total 14.5"
  7. I'm done with winter. What I want now is a massive closed trough to park itself in the Southwest causing a huge SE ridge to pop up giving us weeks of sunny and 75.
  8. Will this result in school activities being canceled or delayed Saturday? If so I'm rooting for a fail for NOVA.
  9. IAD: 0.2" DCA: T BWI: 0.8" RIC: T MBY: 0.1"
  10. 11/15/2018 - 1.6" snow and sleet 12/9/2018 - 0.3" 1/12-13/2019 - 7.8" 1/17/2019 - 0.5" 1/29/2019 - 0.3" 2/1/2019 - T 2/10/2019 - 0.5" 2/20/2019 - 3.0" snow and sleet Nov: 1.6" Dec: 0.3" Jan: 8.6" Feb: 3.5" Year to date: 14"
  11. Over to almost all/all ZR and rain. 32 degrees so there's only a light glaze of ice. Since we got around .3" sleet in the last hour, I'm going with 3" as my final snow/sleet total
  12. Roads and sidewalks almost instantly caved in the last 2 minutes as the snow picks up.
  13. Moderate snow, 31 Starting to see some road stickage here
  14. -SN, 31 Decent coating on grass, nothing on roads sidewalks and driveway
  15. The GFS is horrendous for basically the whole area. Much less precip and a quicker flip
  16. Basically it's 0.2 to 0.4" precip before flipping to sleet and freezing rain between 12-1 pm. Then it quickly goes over to rain by late afternoon for most of the area.
  17. The Euro does not look good with the precip and it also flips over quicker.
