You still are 100-200' lower than the average elevation to your northeast.  Even I-84 at Union is at 1000' and the hills are 2-300' higher around it.  I agree that it's not the 8-900' to the valley floor but it is a downslope direction - that's a fact.

I illustrated it better here by circling his area in white. You can see those hills in the Union region up into southern ORH county...so that in itself would cause mild downslope, even if do not count the higher elevation of the ORH county spine further to the northeast.

Not sure why he doesn't think he downslopes. This is pretty clear evidence.

He didn't hit it today?

Ashfield, MA at 1,000ft hit 88F, though Ashfield at 1,300ft was 84F...Shelburne Falls, MA at 1,100ft hit 87F and those stations look close to him.  I'd toss the 88F at Plainfield, MA at 1,700ft as that seems high.

Heck it hit 76F at 4,000ft at MMNV1 up here...which is why 750ft at MVL hit 91 (the classic adiabatic lapse rates of take 4,000ft temp and add 15 degrees for 750-1,000ft).  Its 83F even at 2,000ft.

But say 875mb temperatures were a little cooler down there today, even low 70s at 4,000ft should yield upper 80s at 1,000ft given the well mixed airmass today.

Probably the most boring video ever recorded.  This is the car thermometer as I returned from Turner's yesterday.  It starts at the base of the hill that leads into Shelburne at around 3:30p.m.  My Davis was reading 83* when I got in.  "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" was playing on the radio during the video.  Apparently, that was a copyright infringement and they muted the video.  lol

it's frustrating when people question, great way to show them your microclimate.

Already 75 at BOS.

I'm calling 96 today.

Moving 2 weeks from Thursday/Friday. Movers come to pack 9/24 and move 9/25. We close 9/22.

sounds like your pattern change posts lol, congrats. We sold my Moms house in 4 days above asking. Westerly is a hot spot, great schools, beaches, low crime, family orientated and close enough to the casinos

There are some spots like that along route 25 by the base of Red Hill which you might have noticed already.  I remember when my dad and I would go over there on hot evenings.  I'd have my arm out the window and then you hit this pocket of air that felt downright cold.  No thermometer in the car back then.
