Rhode Islander in Balto
It's very strange...one minute it's practically all snow, then switches back to all rain....and back to snow again. Never really seen anything like it. Still better than the plain rain we had this morning. According to my rain gauge we have received .35 in of rain so far. SpringfieldSkins
No longer heavy snow in Springfield. Visibility hasn't increased too much, I'd say probably a moderate rate now. 4" so far on grass.
bdevil02
Rain in Old Town still. Ready to call this a bust here. All I wanted was a few inches to cover the grass. No dice so far.
gymengineer
The only thing for our area in terms of hopes is that sometimes these larger storms don't really progress as modeled, so we end up near what was originally forecast but in a different evolution. Like the 2/05 storms, 3/09, 2/10/10, etc.
WVclimo
Getting wind-driven sleet now, after no precip the past 90 minutes. Really wasn't expecting pellets. 35 with NW wind 26, gusting to 35.

mdhokie
This will be an interesting model post-mortum. I know 95 and east was dicey but it sounds like most of central MD is lacking in snow totals. .4 QPF at BWI so far, with an average of 0.05 an hour. Those rates are doomed in March with no cold air. Sparky
Decent snow rates but my board is struggling to accumulate after I swiped it a bit earlier. Will be a trying few hours until the sun lowers a bit in the afternoon. At least it has remained snow.

NCSUchick27
Heavy/moderate snow has been falling here for the past two hours. I am in Herdon. The road in front of my apartment in snow covered. The plows have been by a few times. I can see 267 from the windows in our stairwell, and the cars were moving along pretty well the last time I checked. Hank Scorpio
went out and shoveled about half an hour ago and took some measurements. All were between 4.5 and 5 inches, so I'd say by now we're up to 5.

SomeguyfromTakomaPark
Looks like that nice band doesn't want to get into dc. Maybe as the low pulls NE we can get some.
jnis
.5 vis here with close to 4" in my front yard in the sun. If these rates can keep going I think the low side of LWX's forecast will verify in MBY.
haudidoody
4" in Springfield and nothing in Alexandria. Isn't Springfield just west of Alexandria? Is this just a west-east thing or an urban/suburban thing? It's all those things. I've seen it happen before... even the West End of Alexandria will get a few inches and we get slush. I'm watching baseball now... so no worries.
clskinsfan
Is there a destination out there that you know of? Like a Walmart parking lot or something? Because I will go for sure. You are 1 mile from skyline dr. Head up there if it isnt closed. If its closed head up there tomorrow morning. I am sure its heavy up on top of the mountains. I just passed 12" for the event. Bob Chill
1/2 mile vis with latest pulse. Hood of truck has 1.5. My temp has been 32.7 for a while. Seems low though. I replaced the battery in my wireless thermo. I can't imagine that would affect the accuracy. The next 4-6 hours are probably the best window for my area and places to the n-w of me. You can see the bands finally stacking in line w/ sw-ne tilt.
Terpeast
Dover radar filling in, pushing into DC area... looking great for N/W suburbs of DC. Hope Balt I-95 corridor flips before the stuff on Dover radar arrives.
