  1. heavy rain with occasional loud thunder.
  2. Getting a little sunshine here.
  3. I noticed something like that but there was an occasional boom of thunder. But on one specific occasion I saw a bolt of lightning, the actual zigzag bolt not just a flash, opened the door to listen to the thunder but it never came. Also had nickel sized hail around 11:30pm - midnight. Another storm apparently hit around 4am but I slept through it, but I noticed some wind damage around the house, large branches down, lot of blossoms on my Yoshino Cherry ripped off.
  4. Just would like to hear thunder and see some lightning in the wee hours tomorrow.
  5. Uhmm, I went to the grocery store in Westminster this morning. Not busy. I wore a mask and had a disinfectant wipe with me. I picked up some chicken thighs and few other things to make pressure cooker chicken casserole type dish. No way can I not go grocery shopping for two to four weeks like some of y'all. Yes, it's worrisome as an older gent with some health issues but still gotta eat healthy.
  6. Mockingbird loves the suet Yoshino Cherry
  7. I have a couple of these clocks in the house. You might find them helpful since they prominently display both Day and Date in a nice looking display. Even the weather nerd is satiated with the indoor temperature displayed. I have had them over a year, very reliable, multiple dimmer settings to fit the need and automatic time changes for EST, DST. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07LD1S5YF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  8. Almost an inch of rain so far with lightning and thunder a little earlier.
  9. ^^ Don't think China would mess with the US. The flow of goods from them to us is so great they wouldn't want to break that relationship.
  10. The liquor store next to the Giant in Westminster was on the quiet side when I visited earlier this morning. I took a deep breath, entered, got what I wanted, walked out and exhaled.
  11. Hopefully Parrs Ridge will latch on to a streamer.
  12. Got a heavy snow/sneet shower that briefly whitened the ground temp has dropped off to 38.
  13. Had a period of small hail overnight around 11pm with a couple of nice lightning shots and loud thunder. Caught 0.72" in the gauge but could have been more with those bouncy ice balls bouncing in and back out of the gauge. Plenty of wind to go with that rain/ice too.
  14. Was I-795 finished when you moved up Carroll County way?
  15. That was a helluva storm for the northern tier. Many of us got 2 feet plus and that ull passage in the evening was spectacular snow rates.
  16. 97-98 was a very active winter for storms in Jan. and Feb. in particular. Several genuine Miller A types if memory serves me right. Ocean City had massive problems with erosion that winter. Problem is they were rain producers for the most part. I still managed to get 16.5" of snow for the winter including a 7" storm on March 3.
  17. Thanks for the heads up I really appreciate it ........ decisions decisions decisions....ha ha. If you can explain what a school tax is and how it would effect a retiree.
  18. Don't know how much this would help you but the governor recently said he is introducing legislation to raise the pension exclusion in MD to $50000 (currently 30000 for 65 and older) and add partial income tax relief (I believe he said 50% deduction?) on amounts above that up to $100000. So there is that. I would like to see that come to fruition I just hope the folks in Annapolis want to give the older folks in MD a break as much as they want to throw money into schools around here. As an aside, Pennsylvania is a pretty good state for retirees from what I know about it. They have no state income tax on pensions, 401k annuities and such, and social security benefits whatsoever. You still pay state income on any ordinary wages you might earn plus things like dividends and interest. Anyhow I have given some thought to moving over the border.
