I am on the northern edge of things. I can see brighter skies to my north but it is dark and booming over me.

I'm calling it at 96 for today but may have been just 95.

My ground is still on the damp side despite the heat. Maybe the humidity keeps it longer? Anyhow the upcoming potential rain will make sure it stays moist.

High today reached 94 after yesterdays 93. Not the hottest of heat waves, but the dews have been between 74.3 and 76.8 throughout if my sensor is correct which adds a bit of discomfort for sure.

I had a quick downpour early this afternoon that dropped 0.27". I'll take it considering the heat that is coming. Feels really gross out now.

Just measured 2.61" in the rain gauge. 4.57" for the month.

I haven't measured what's sitting in the rain gauge yet but I can see over 2" since around midnight.

Got a quick .70" in a little cell that raked my neighborhood with some thunder/lightning.

I find this type of setup more exciting than a quick moving cold front with potential derecho. Mainly because the storms can be repetitive over several hours, huge rain producers and often with wicked lightning/thunder.

I have noticed that storms traveling from a south or southeast direction tend to be slow movers and can dump a lot of precipitation.

High yesterday was 91 only made it to 87 today. Some interesting cumulus towers around. Perhaps building into a storm?
