Light snow in Pen-Mar.  Not enough to really accum yet.

I was just shoveling in a t-shirt and sweating my ass off. I'm calling 45 for the high. Already blasting past the forecast as usual. My forecast high is 36. My 10am it's 39 lol. The past 2 years models have been horrible with temps. It's always +5 over forecast. Even on the coldest days.

Yep. Some of my favorite winters 79/80, 81/82, 86/87, 95/96, 09/10, 10/11, 13/14 and 24/25. Why? Because they ALL had a minimum of 30 days of at least an inch OTG at 7 am. Not all of them were the most snowfall of my years, but with some cold the snow hung around the most.

40 deg and sun. The solar panels finally warmed up enough to let loose. Went out to clear the drive with my ears on the rest of the other half. It did go while I was clearing. But heard it and went down into the street.

The “snow” is officially starting to look kinda crusty. I’d be cool with a thaw/washout and possible reboot later in the month.

Ice sheet glare gone, and now has the consistency of granular snow, except in shady areas. When it freezes again it will be crusty, not slick like ice. Liking that.

52 breaks in the last week alone.  Your area is def an older one and prone to breaks.  Be happy tho.  Baileys, Falls Church and Fairfax are way worse.

35 off a high of 41. Aside from some edges where the snow has receded, there’s still full coverage with depth. Impressed since my front yard is full southern exposure.

My south facing roof is still snow covered, so I’m pretty pleased with the attic insulation.

I am. Still check on things from time to time. And winter is the silly season for our main break crews. They have to work in the worst conditions. A thank you and hot chocolate are always a nice way to say thanks.
