Wonderful.  I'll be in Florida this weekend and come back on Monday (I hope) to a car buried in snow in an airport parking lot. 

I know everyone here just loves a big snow storm... I just wish they'd only hit the ski slopes.

Nope no worries. Not only is the storm working cold air in place a low that strong will also produce its own cold air. The only fly in the ointment is that if the storm gets to close to the coast someone might get screwed with a dry slot.

It's early, but IMO based on the modeled pattern (assuming it holds), I'd give the system nearly a 2-in-3 chance of coming far enough up the coast to impact Long Island, New York City, and at least its nearby northern and western suburbs. The exact track will be crucial to details, but at this stage the guidance cannot accurately resolve the synoptic details.

963 is insane. A 968 on the GFS and 963 on the CMC, this is a massive storm signal. Placement is obviously the big question but these are some extreme solutions.
