Can’t see it falling but everything is beginning to get a glaze. Models had the temp crashing as the backside moves through, hoping that turns back to sleet instead of becoming all freezing rain . Once the ocean surface low passed my latitude surface temps quickly dropped from 26 F to 23F in Colonial Beach

Normally even a couple of inches of snow and the decking gaps are filled in. This was so cold, dry and fine that even with 5 inches of pure snow, it was still sifting through the gapping, and the sleet continues the same way. Never seen that before.

Mrs.J
Family spread out and we are all experiencing a different type of precipitation. Kid in DC said it just started raining, presumably freezing rain. I am getting sleet here. Kid up in PA is getting dumped on with snow.

Admittedly, this total is probably low since it’s a disaster to measure. @Kay any measuring insight lol? Welll I measured 6.5" like 30 minutes after the flip started this morning 10-ish. Not very confident about the measurement I just took of what fell after that on cleared area. It has to be at least 2-2.5" imo, but it's unruly stuff. Snowciopathic Snow Bro
Traffic camera at Linton Hall and U.S. 29 in Gainesville. For those who aren't familiar with the area, this interchange is normally heavily traveled and frequently congested (much like 10,000 other places in the region, lol). Looks like the covid era redux today.

Scraff
I’m just curious. Any chance for a backend Justin Tucker happy ending with a flash of snow? Or what I got…just be happy and move on? I’m fine either way. Just a thought. 3

Depth of 8.1” so I think my actual measurement is low tbh. This is a tough one lol.

NorthArlington101
Also a glaze starting to appear in DC. Definitely a sleet/freezing rain mix. Not sure what to think about the next few hours. Definitely haven’t felt compelled to go outside since this morning beyond just observing a sleet pack for a second.

I have a second-floor deck over a lower-level patio. 97.8852% of the time that patio has enough snow on it to brush off with a broom after a storm. Not this time! There is more on the patio than on the deck above.

PrinceFrederickWx
Up to 5.5” storm total (3.3” snow, 2.2” sleet). Cleared the board as we’ve mostly switched over to freezing rain. When you have a slope driveway on a hill it kills the 'fun' of clearing cars, pathways and digging out to the street.

I had her hand as we slowly crossed and said 'Now be careful, this stuff is" and she was down. Anyway, a pair stay in the house and one in the vehicle we take out now in the winter. 2
