mitchnick
3 as the low for the closest reporting site near me. -8F, if you can believe it, at York Airport. They are known for extreme low temps as they are in a bit of a valley and their thermometer is located in a a low spot very close to a creek bed. https://forecast.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KTHV.html
nw baltimore wx
My cheapy thermometers are at 6. Driving home from the beach yesterday along 404 and 50, all the rivers are completely frozen over including the Choptank in Denton and the Severn and South in Annapolis. The Narrows was mostly frozen and the Bay had a lot of ice on the western side, but the center and even along Sandy Point was still open. I heard The Plunge will only be a dip this year as they want participants to only go knee deep.

MN Transplant
7.2, second coldest of the winter. Airports were all around 10. I've been surprised in this stretch that IAD hasn't bottomed out like they normally do.

You need to sharpen your chase skills lol. I woke up this morning and started choking. I couldn't figure out what it was. I even felt a little buzz. That's when I looked outside and realized I was smoking cirrus like a cowboy. 8 degrees and smoking cirrus. Congrats Nagshead. 1

I can't quite remember the year.... 2018 maybe. Weekend trip to BW and Canaan. Timed it perfectly with an arctic front. Arrived Friday afternoon, about 18" had just fallen and the temp was -1F with roaring winds. Next day at the sled track was -1F again. Light snow never stopped. Probably picked up 2 - 3" of wind swept fluff. Cleared off Saturday night and the winds died down and early Sunday morning the thermometer on the deck at the house we rented read -21F. Coldest temp I've ever experienced, although without the wind it felt a lot warmer than the 2 previous days. All that said, the Allegany Plateau is literally Heaven on earth. 4F for the low here this morning. Coldest low of the week.
