Aside from less forcing, there’s a trend up here for some drier sfc air to work in overnight. That may be attributing to some of the sharp cutoff in S NH.

Last BOX AFD was 3AM. Sad sad sad… while this storm is pretty mediocre it’s nice to get professionally prepared info on the storm as it evolves.

Good soak for RI and SE MA. Winds aren’t too bad.

Maybe we can get a similar setup in Jan or Feb with one of these.

If it's mediocre why do they need to keep sending out notices about it?

I watched some of the Weather Channel coverage from NJ and further south a little while ago and there was nothing but some rain drops and white caps even as one met started talking hysterically about how this weekend would likely bring back "PTSD from Sandy". Seriously?? This has all the makings of an overhyped "event" since there's nothing else to talk about.

perhaps in NNE but I think even W MA cleans up, especially east slope with orographic assist .. if anything in these areas could be underdone IMO

We’re roarin’ and pourin’ out here. The wind is blowing the rain back up my roof. Never seen that before. It hits the drip edge and just shoots straight up and back towards the ridge. Tide is super high and waves are pounding the neighbor’s dock.

AFD’s are issued regardless of the weather. Have you read one? They used to be issued every 6 hours or so and more often when weather warranted it. That no longer seems to be the case.

The storm isn’t severe, but it’s still nice to get the latest thoughts about it from professionals. Changes in winds, qpf, etc…

AFD’s also contain latest marine and aviation discussions, which matter to those who need them, even if it’s not me. There could be 50-75 mph gusts out over open waters…

Yeah, maybe but for now the precipitation is having a hard time getting into NW Connecticut, and the Berkshires.
