I honestly am not sure… enlighten me.  The strong jet stream shearing energy apart?  Hadley Cell?  Lack of amplification?

my guess is fast flow and lack of clean phasing.. too many disjointed pieces of energy mucking that up.  I'm no met though

Probably a bit less precipitation and wind in the valley with the shadowing affect.  Overall, not expecting anything overly exciting around here. Probably 1-1.5 inches of rain and 30 mile per hour wind gusts
