dailylurker Posted yesterday at 09:14 PM Share Posted yesterday at 09:14 PM Wow! What an afternoon. I was working in Ellicott City. I was washing a large house. I got nailed with a storm around 1. I just kept washing. Then on my way home I got raked on 32 by NSA. Back here in low lowlands were getting waves of thunderstorms. It looks like a very stormy evening for the 95 corridor. Mrs.J Posted yesterday at 09:15 PM Share Posted yesterday at 09:15 PM Just got news that the college the youngest Ms. J attends got hit last night by a really bad storm. Her campus is known for its beautiful landscape and to see all the big old trees downed is so sad. No damage to any buildings and no injuries. Other people in Carlisle are showing damage that they got as well. Flooding as well around town. Dickinson Storm Damage 06/30/25

frd Posted yesterday at 09:39 PM Share Posted yesterday at 09:39 PM Pretty blah here. Just a shower, as the cells have either weakened or missed to the North. Last night with all the nail biting was much better. However, it is early and we will see what the overnight brings.

That FB feed brought back memories of visiting her. It is a lovely campus and Carlisle is a nice town. Thankfully no one was hurt.

Paleocene Posted yesterday at 10:52 PM Share Posted yesterday at 10:52 PM Huge strike and boom north downtown silver spring just now... That probably distracted a lot of folks on the beltway. Tons of energy zapping around. Here's a better shot of the poplar that got zapped on my street at 330pm. Looks like a tree bomb went off, bark scattered all over the street. Luckily my house is outside the fall radius ... But power lines and several houses aren't. Hope it doesn't fall!
IronTy Posted yesterday at 10:52 PM Share Posted yesterday at 10:52 PM Well that escalated quickly. Severe storm in Huntingtown, big wind and heavy rain for the past hour. We lost power about ten times in 30min, I'm sure that was good for the household electronics. Glad we have a propane stove so we were still able to make dinner.
Weather Will Posted yesterday at 11:03 PM Share Posted yesterday at 11:03 PM Steady rain continues. 76 degrees and 2.13 inches at this point. Yard is a soggy, green mess. Much different from last couple of summers. Wonder if we are setting ourselves up for an historic tropical flood event at some point this season.

This does wonders for everything electrically powered... decreasing the mean time between failures (MTBF) that is engineered into everything these days.
