METAR KEWR 152300Z 28014KT 5SM SCT060 BKN180 37/29 A2981 RMK SLP094 T03720289 In '95? They used the chilled mirror dew point sensor. I'm pretty sure they had programmed any dew point above 86F as a sensor error (from contamination) which would have shown up as a missing RH and DP. joey2002
It's tough to find an inexpensive station ($75-150 range) that has dew point. There are some out there though. This one by Ambient Weather is only $40 on Amazon (normally $80) and it measures dew point. http://www.amazon.com/Ambient-Weather-WS-1171-Temperature-Barometer/dp/B003OSSH9G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359689212&sr=8-1&keywords=weather+station+dew+point It's not as accurate as the $400 stations but still works pretty well for the money. dendrite
78/76 at CEF this morning. Rainforest feel. Sultry. Happy Independence Day everyone! Did you have drizzle this morning? CEF had many DZ obs, but it looks like bogus sensor issues considering some were with BKN skies. I'm not sure I buy the current 77/77 either considering every other station in MA is pretty much 71-73 except for U60s in W MA and a stray 75 at OWD. Negative on the drizzle and I live about a mile from there. Don't own a TD measuring device but that 76 seems a bit suspect. Everyone enjoy the 4th !
