No tornado of course, but kids were sitting in the hallway in the 'duck and cover' pose for 30 minutes. Ultimately not a huge deal, and since I was watching radar and know what to look for, I wasn't stressing about it at all. I also know most people not only don't watch the radar, but wouldn't know what to look for even if they did. Probably a pretty anxious time for a lot of parents today. Oh gosh that is scary to think about. I hope the kiddos aren’t too shaken up. My kid would have had a panic attack

The LCPS Parents page on Facebook blew up today. I think they got it right. My teenager asked me to release her at 2 and I told her she was fine. Stay and learn something lol 3

SnowenOutThere
All I remember about tornado warnings in schools is that I would try to tell the teachers they were wrong. 3

Ironically, our kids's elementary school had their tornado drill on Friday. They all thought it was really cool and exciting. (I recognize, of course, that others might feel differently.)

I was in a school once that had a tornado warning right at dismissal. It was awful- busses and a line of cars stuck outside, I think some of the parents & bus drivers were rushed into the office- another teacher and I had a bunch of kids of mixed ages in their spots in an interior room- duck and cover- then the power went out. Total black in that room for at least a half hour. Kids were FREAKED OUT.

When I was at elementary back in Michigan we had a legit Tornado warning and we all had to go out in the hallways cowering with our textbooks over our head/neck. Nobody died or anything, can't remember if there were any injuries....but 40yrs later it's probably the only memory I have from school that far back. So look at the bright side, making memories. ThePhotoGuy
Clouds and fog at 830 am kind of set the stage for the severe potential was going to be low and rain showers at 11 made it known. Afternoon "storm" was meh. Actually was more windy in the morning then when the storm came through. No lightning or thunder. 0.31 for the day. EHoffman
What an absolute embarrassment everything shutting down in this city. Gets more and more ridiculous every time. I couldn't even find parking in my neighboorhood at 3pm because literally no one was working today. Just lol.

IronTy
I got an idea. If you're excited about severe weather then maybe don't start a thread about a discrete threat. We all know that's the fastest way to deep-six a snowstorm, no reason severe should be any different.
