Scott747
Should get a reading from recon shortly and then at least one more. Second mission is on the way but could be tight in getting there before landfall.

I actually think the slight east jog is a tiny blessing as Negril and Montego Bay might get spared the absolute worst in terms of wind, the rain is going to be a big story either way.
jbenedet
This is actually heartbreaking. The track eluding guidance initially likely put in some false hope of a near miss “miracle” 1

dan11295
I wonder if Melissa had a slight rise in pressure during the eyewall meld, and is now steady state or slightly intensifying again. Almost certainly not weakening at the moment.
Jefflaw77
Reminds me of Michael in 2018. But stronger. Interestingly it’s moving in the same direction NNE…

BooneWX
Josh settled on a location in Treasure Beach. He’s going to get nailed (as he usually does).
eyewall
I would imagine things are really picking up on Treasure Beach right now as the core is closing in as we speak.

Don’t downplay a most likely disaster unfortunately for some with winds at 175 and gusts over 200. Also many have said a lot of the population lives way above sea level. Windspeed
Josh is a crazy guy!! He’s really trying to penetrate the eye. Really hope he will be OK!! He's in a concrete villa. He will be fine. With daylight hours it should be intense footage.

Per Twitter, he settled on a concrete masonry building up on a hill. Def safe from surge i'm sure, but will be battling the wind. There's a chance he might catch the 2nd strongest Hurricane landfall ever. Think about that for a second. Unreal.

NJwx85
This is the shelter Josh chose. It’s a solid concrete hotel. I remember worrying about him with Dorian and Haiyan but he always pulls through. He might be stuck on the island for awhile but he’s prepared as always. I wish he still posted here.
