Moderate to heavy rain with some good lightning in Ossining. Missed out on the hail as the heaviest storms missed us to the north and south.

Temp has dropped from 58° to 50° since the rain started.

These near record midlevel lapse rates have given us unusually widespread coverage of hail across the area.

Best thunderstorm for so late in the year I have seen on the uws. Legit pea sized hail and solid lightning. Winds only topped out around 40mph though.

Pea size hail and torrential rain in Long Beach. I can think of maybe one other time ever I’ve seen hail in Long Beach.

Was in Pearl River (Rockland county) and traveling on the palisades parkway when the line hit. Traveled thru the cell and hit a hailshaft. Ground was covered white in pea size  hail in Pomona. Temp in Pearl River was 60 in Pomona it was 37 after the hailshaft passed thru.

  East central Nassau County in southeastern New York...

* Until 330 PM EST.

* At 252 PM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
  was located over Levittown, moving northeast at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.
