Popping in to say congrats and good luck. Any wind out there as the changeover happens?

Been dead calm here just NW of Vienna on Lawyers Rd. since the onset.

Had a slight breeze from the NW when I left work at 14:00.  Work is adjacent to rt28 near interchange of 28 and McLearen about 1/2 mile from the Dulles main N/S runway.  That said, it's just about always breezy at work being adjacent to 28, the airport and out in the open.  Never had any rain there at all.  Went from a few flurries, to SN-, to SN in about 20 mins.

Just had a great band here at home for about 15 mins that deposited about a 1/2".  Must have been one of the 35dbz bands showing up on NEXRAD.  Still dead calm out.

Never tell me the odds on snow...

It’s awesome out here!! F the LR thread. Enjoy what we are all here for in the first place! Get outside if you can. B)

None at all out west yet. All the flags in the neighborhood were not moving when I went for a walk.

The back edge has stalled out by Frederick, so for now, we are getting smoked in Westminster. Over 2" now if you include this mornings melted snow.

Smoked in Westminster?  I’m shocked! ;)

Driving south from DC down 395 the progression was roughly:

Before 3:10 - all or almost all rain
3:15 - Flipped to mostly snow around Seminary Rd
3:35 - got home to SSW Franconia/Kingstowne, mulch and some grass accumulation

Now (4pm) - car has been topped, starting to stick to pavement

Expectations exceeded for south of town.

Can confirm timing/conditions on all the above...currently 33/31, air temp dropped from 37 at 3 p.m. hour (when I left Fort Belvoir). Oh, and it's doing this:

Different world in Havre de Grace. 100% rain. Haven’t seen a flake.

Crazy how much of a difference 15 miles makes because it’s really heavy snow right now

Just drove from Gaithersburg to Rockville and roads were definitely becoming covered.  If y’all pass a slow car with an Alabama license plate just go around, not used to driving in the snow yet ha.
