Floyd wasn’t a huge deal imby, but it’s my earliest tropical impact memory. I remember the wind blowing hard when we were outside during recess and power going out at school—the first and only time that happened to me.

I remember being glued to TWC as it came up the coast and overhead. The moon was out as the decaying center passed. Those were good days.

In Memphis for work, already 76 degrees, feels like 80, with a forecasted high of 98 feeling like 105.

5.88" here with gusts in the 40s, our most recent significant TC.  Only 0.11" from being our biggest rain event, which came in June 1998, our first full month after moving here.

Was an OK storm for Cape Cod, we had 60-70mph gusts.  I always felt slighted by Floyd though, another 50mi east with less land interaction and that was close to a hurricane there

The next two rain chances look really uninspiring.

Some showers later today north of the pike and maybe some rain Sunday evening?

Looks like that one favors the same areas that have gotten it all summer, west and southern CT.

Definitely doesn’t look like anything you can count on

I'm curious what it would take to have you feel good about rain.   The last one had models showing 1+" and you weren't inspired, then got 2".

This doesn't look big but it would be hard to completely miss rain on this through Monday.

A little sticky but pleasant out there to start today..been clearing out some old brush in the back and it def has that summery feel to the air which is nice when everyone and their grandma seems to be ready to close the books on this precious season. Gotta enjoy it while we still can.

That's going to go bye-bye over the weekend. 

Pretty good early cold in mid/N Ontario scooting into the Maritime of Canada, and the big polar high associated goes over-top our latitude Sunday.  Coolest look we've seen since spring

Thickness are below 560 much more convincingly for a couple days early next week.   We'll bounce back, but at the continental scale this appears to be a kind of first step in seasonality, although it looks more pattern specific.  Still, it is nearing the Equinox so some sort of 'step down' isn't outlandish.  

Doesn't mean we wont get a warm humid but the 570s ambience might be done until next spring.

I'll say...it was very weird last week wearing a Pats jersey on the couch while wearing shorts and not jeans. Will be even more weird on September 29 if I'm wearing a Bruins jersey with shorts. In fact, depending on which jersey I'm wearing I may not even need pants because a few of them are game replicas so on the longer side.

Worth watching three areas into next week imo

Invest 98L in the central Atlantic, the Gulf as a CAG tries to form, and off the east coast. There’s been a signal for some kind of coastal storm that could be hybrid depending on location.
