Big Heat Week into July 4th Weekend

Damn corn sweat(evapotranspiration) effs things up here and inhibits higher temps by adding more moisture to the air. lol not really. Seems logical, but we aren't the midwest, where all you see is millions of acres of cornfield for miles and miles.

I wonder how warm it’s gonna be tonight. Breaking a record warm low perhaps?

Record high mins for DCA for July 2-4 are 79/80/80 so good chance to break dailies.  All-time is 84 though

103° has tied the highest temp ever recorded at WFO Mount Holly, going back to 1993. The previous highest temp at our office was 103° back on July 7, 2010.

101.7 on my pws in suburban sprawl hellacape next to a field with corn planted. Easton's meso hit 98, did not look at Easton airport which would be closer to downtown Easton vs the meso which is at the wwtp on the Choptank

101.1. At least my feels like went from 114 to 111. Had to go out onto the deck to clip some chives. Even though I soaked my deck plants early this morning the poor things just gave up.

Uh oh Charles Town is currently 97/79. That makes it feel like 115 degrees. That reel feel is truly representative of places like south central Texas. Charles Town has been up to 103 degrees this afternoon. If that 79 dewpoint was in play at that time, the heat index may well have been in the middle to upper 120s.

There is NO WAY it should be this hot in Charles Town, Not only are they too far north for this, they are too high up in elevation.

My AC was recently inspected and had no issues, but the unit for upstairs just cannot keep up today when the roof is in direct sun. The attic is just too hot. Running nonstop and still 85 upstairs.

In a very perverse way, this is like the summer version of an I-95 snowstorm that hit everyone from us to New England - of course you can't really "enjoy" it because it feels like death outside, but everyone got to experience the extreme-ness.

Hearing MRB may have had an intra-hour high of 101, which would be 1 degree short of the record for the date from 1931.  Should be confirmed within the hour.

Project my son and I did today. Way more tolerable this evening since we were in the shade even though temp was technically warmer. Still look like I jumped in the pool with my clothes on.

This is how it was on upper level of my split level with the short attic .  Last fall  I put 14” blown insulation in and new gables.

Today I was able to maintain 75 upstairs  with AC on for 20-25 minutes, off for 7/8 and back on 20-25.  
 

What were others settings and time frames today?

Same issue for me; up to 79 with upstairs unit running. downstairs unit doing fine - lowering that temp to help it keep up.
