Thanks for that info!  We're new to southern Calvert and I garden as a hobby.  The soil here scares me - mix of sand and cement.  The horrible drought hasn't helped, and this event has been very paltry so far.  Hoping for better luck later today and tonight, but I'm starting to think we end up real short down here.

You down near Lusby?  Call Hatcher's and get a load of compost and small pine fines delivered.  Once you get that done you should be all good.  I've had no trouble growing just about anything in my garden.  Only thing I really have trouble with is tomatoes but that's mostly a function of the trees iny yard growing so tall now that I get a lot more shade than I used to 20yrs ago.

Had to turn the heat on....51 outside.  66 inside.

LOL, yep. Wife was complaining that it was 67 in the house, on went the heat in May! smh. Currently light rain and 51.5/50.8. At 7 am CoCoRaHS report set a new 'cool max' for the date at 55.0 degrees, old mark was 57 degrees from 1990. Another 0.45" in gauge then, new 0.11 since. Close to 1.25" for event."

You saying that made me look at my temps. 50 outside holding at 70 inside, but I am in an interior TH. I did however change my system back over to min/max mode. So the heat will come on if it gets to 69 and put the air up to 76.

Rain wise .83” for the day so far. Event total is now 3.03"

We are about 4 miles south of Prince Frederick, just past Sixes Road.  Thanks for the soil amendment tips!  We are having a patio added this fall and I want to have garden beds installed all along the perimeter of it.

Finally got some good batches to come through here!  Prince Fred Mesonet (2 miles away) reports 0.55 so far today on top of 0.65 yesterday.  I like the warmer temps coming and would love to see some peeks of sun stir up some t-storms for the area.

On Thursday at noon my house interior was 78  and began the decline and last night at 10 it dropped to  68 and I turned heat on
