Constant thunder from the storms to my North, South, East, and West. Couldn't possibly get missed right?

Popped up storms about 10 minutes ago with several hard tl  hits and raining hard

Mike Thomas threw in the towel on severe. Attributing lack of severe in immediate DC area to cloud cover this am. Suggests later line is heavy rain, maybe.

Finally a nice little gully washer. Nothing crazy, but it’s pretty heavy. The grass and flowers are loving it.

at least 15 minutes of VERY heavy rain here in Gaithersburg (NE side, near Laytonsville).  Not much thunder/lightning, but stuck under good radar returns - not exactly training, but in no big hurry to move outta here either.

Helluva Beltway screw job so far. Heard a little thunder? I find it hard to believe the WV stuff totally evaporates but not feeling great

Same storm has a hook and a TW in Cape May.... wouldn't be surprised if it produces

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  West central Montgomery County in central Maryland...
  Northeastern Loudoun County in northern Virginia...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 622 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Purcellville,
  or near Leesburg, moving east at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Leesburg, Lansdowne, Poolesville, Countryside, Purcellville,
  Belmont, Hamilton, Barnesville, Paeonian Springs, Waterford,
  Lucketts, Dickerson, and Beallsville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
