Not out of the question... just imagine if we had not been screwed 2 times after the Jan 25-26 event???

was just thinking that, we'd be probably close to 100" region wide, and honestly this storm and that norlun last week left some on the table, but nonetheless, still close to climo, I'd give this winter an A right now for that and the temps, think I had one day over 45 since early November! that's nuts

Is TBlizz ever allowed to complain again?:D

I have to say, in all my years on the forum I’ve seen him get the biggest storms out of anyone.

I remember a photo of him snowblowing across his yard with the snow up to his shoulders, forget which event that was.

Arborvitaes in the backyard.  The top 2 feet of snow is actually quite dry and just the initial layer is medium wetness. Haven't heard a plow since 5am, kinda peaceful just to enjoy it!

Just curious, what was wrong with their measurements of the past? Too high, too low?

It was always too low. I'd be measuring diligently, "Oh, 11.2 storm total, nice!"

Four hours later...BDR, eh 7.0" sure.

There might be a difference at times with their location, but I could drive down and stick a ruler in for 10" after such a report came in. It got to be comical at times and felt like they did it well after all was said and done. And who knows where they were measuring at other times...

Is the V5 experimental going to overtake the current version 4.3? I noticed its significantly lower in the snowfall mean than the operational in almost every event.

At some point this year I would imagine, the evaluation period ended 12/1.

Plan is in spring I believe. I’ll have to double check, but I know it’ll be around prior to tropical season, so this is the last  winter for V4.3. Next winter will be V5.0 or V5.1, so I’m looking forward to that on the desk. Definitely performing better than the current NBM operational. We see it in a lot of the verification.

Being a lifelong RI resident, I believe the 30'+ reports down here, and this easily the biggest storm I've ever experienced living on the coast over the last 20 years, as opposed to northern RI where I grew up.

This was bigger in every way than 2013 but that was a worse experience locally for us because it pasted all over, took down our flagpole, then a 5 day power outtage on top. This dropped more snow but was colder -- and we havent lost power yet. State as a whole also had a lot more outtages in 2013 despite getting a load more snow here.

Either way an all-timer I never thought I'd ever see here along the water, much less enjoy.

The snow is powdery but clumps together like wet snow.  It’s epic here.  I estimate 30 in.
still some light snow.  Temp up to 28.2 from 26.4 a couple hours earlier.

Full fledged nudity...what I would give to see a 30"+ event.

Some pretty heavy snow here from that one.   Should add at least an inch or 2.

Some of the best snowgrowth too with that last band, maybe because winds have subsided

Let's see if remnant fronto can congeal to give us another moderate+ band

20z HRRR has snow falling until 8-9pm

Brookline schools closed Tuesday

My 5” of snow up here can only be described as powdered sugar.

Somehow ended up with 8" just east fo you here. Stuff was dense, compared to the big one last month. Much harder to push around with the tractor
