Looks like the Catoctins are getting hammered right now. Looking upstream from there, all snow (big fatties) and accumulating on the 81 traffic cams near chambersburg.

I want to see blizzard conditions! 11 minutes ago, snowfan said: Would be great if we could fast forward to 4pm. I'm going to enjoy any snow tv during the day, and I love that transition in the evening when the roads instantly cave as temperatures reach freezing. By the way, there's no way to pretreat roads with juice with the rain, so unsalted roads could get bad quickly this evening.

Or any of our DE folks. Hoping I could maybe get out Tuesday evening but ideally Monday lol If we get 2 feet the major highway 13 and 113 will be shut down for a couple days here.
nw baltimore wx
Does anyone have a good radar site for watching the storm form? I have RadarScope but I don't know of a way to make regional radar.
katabatic
Steady light snow. 29.5 currently - temp was around 31 at sunrise, so going in the right direction. Main roads are fine since they've been treated but neighborhood/side roads caved. I'd say a little less than an inch so far.

You will get great shots and vids walking down Rehoboth Ave to the beach. And ofc right at the beach. I'm telling ya. Book it and go now. This. Rehoboth or Dewey are both fine. The Hyatt place in Dewey has rooms for $133 and it’s right across the street from the beach, walking distance to Dewey beer, other food options, and a 5 min drive to the rehoboth boardwalk.

The coastal areas in Sussex will be awhile before they can go anywhere. My parents are in that area and I'm not expecting them to be able to move till Tuesday.
Jebman
Precip over NC/VA and the overall DMV is just fascinating to watch as the coastal develops and the system over the Great Lakes interact. This is the kind of meteorological mayhem that finds its way into papers later on. I don't have the chops for this, but someone like Millville or Terpeast is probably gonna do an exemplar writeup about the way this entire system is developing. We are living history right now. Probably rate dependent south of 70 given the marginal wet bulbs until after 3pm. If we get a steady heavy enough precip coverage it would help.

There might not be quite as much drifting with this one with the heavy wet nature of the snow.
