CT Valley Snowman
I'm a bit leary of the valley shadow, although I think it would be more pronounced the further north you go, especially Northampton to Greenfield. I'm staying with a conservative 8-12 here while watching for potential banding. Ryan's station is going for 10-20 statewide and I could see myself being the 10" here. 1
Snowcrazed71
Just got the alert on my phone that we're upgraded to a winter storm warning for Northern Connecticut. I wouldn't be surprised if we're upgraded to a blizzard warning even here by tomorrow. This has happened many times before where once the storm gets going, blizzard warnings get extended. Why do I feel like a little right before bed on Christmas Eve..lol

My wife is doing the opposite, flying back down to RSW to make sure she misses the storm. I told her someone has to stay here and take care of the cats, and I was volunteering. Don't think she believed that one for a minute.

Coastal areas really need the blizzard warning, because by then the public will take it very seriously. And just like that, the warnings are up. Berlin1926
It would not surprise me if Connecticut is the blast zone for ridiculous totals. New Haven to Putnam could easily see 2-3'. I'm 60 years old, I've seen this movie before. Convinced that even interior Connecticut meets Blizzard Warning criteria. Totally jealous from my perch. Look forward to videos. 2

DomNH
I’m not one to criticize NWS but GYX seems a little slow with the headlines especially for Hillsborough and Rockingham. WSW and Blizzard Warnings already just over the border.

Taunton has a history of this for northern Connecticut.

I understand keeping it conservative at this lead time, but still that’s warning snows and likely a high impact event for some of the CWA and not even a watch yet. Just strikes me as odd.
