Yeah going to be watching them. The water buckets have been decently low and have been filling them 2x’s a day. And one of them eats soup so nice and warm. I feel bad though with this front that just blew through. I put them out as you know moving is better than standing in a stall. I chanced it with a brief spot of rain and no sheets, only one has a sheet, but looks to have blown through quickly. Things should dry out for sure though with this wind. Putting the two mini’s in their paddock this morning and not slipping down the slight incline was dicey. 

That being said just had a ruckus of wind blow through here. Had a decent part of rain embedded in the line that I took a direct hit from. A spotter on mPING out in Jefferson reported pea sized hail from it.

I bet it's ripping up on the ridge tops. Camp David gusted to 61 earlier. Nothing going on in the lowlands yet. Just muddy and lame lol

Wow. Had a 54 mph gust a while ago, also had some graupel/sleet/rain about an hour ago. I staked down two 7 ft artificial Christmas trees when I put them up Tuesday, both are on the ground with the stakes pulled out on one side. I'll try again tomorrow, not fighting the wind while trying to redo. Temp down to 38.8/28.7.

I have decorations down.. it is a massacre of lighted snowmen outside!  - Hoping winds subside soon! Winds have to be gusting to 50+ at times. Lights have been going flickering and had brief outage.

This has turned into a pretty intense day. Heavy snow showers continue, temp is now 30 degrees lower than midnight and while it's next to impossible to measure, I imagine we've received 2 inches so far. The Wisp cams are fun

What seems to never miss on the short term modeling and forecasts are high winds. Definitely confirmed for today. Yeesh - my 22-story office bldg is shaking from the gusts - very noticeble up on 20th floor anyway...

Another punch, or perhaps just extension, to the gusty winds occurs heading into early evening as the potent trough axis moves overhead. Guidance was consistent with minimal drop off in winds, especially on the hilltops and ridges. Thus, all wind headlines are in effect until 10 PM. In particular, downslope-favored areas just east of the Alleghenies could see some very high winds given the wind aloft and profiles in BUFKIT; it would not shock me if one or two wind gusts to hurricane force were noted somewhere between US-219 and US-220 this evening. Given the number of power outages in some areas and the very cold temps tonight, this additional wind could prove high impact.

Winds will diminish the second half of the night as high pressure quickly approaches from the west by daybreak.
