Those fokes up there are no weekend hikers. I perfer extreme winter conditions so I don't do tropical rain like the Appalachian trail hikers. I perfer blizzards and extreme cold. Don't worry. They knew it was coming and everyone either enjoyed it or hunkered down.

Storm development in VA looks more widespread than hrrr and 3k NAM suggested. More like FV3.

Just fished the Monocacy last week and it was at about 2'.  Currently at almost 13'.  You gotta be a little off to try putting in a kayak.

Point of rocks is set to crest at almost 23'.  Been quite a while since we've had a good flush but unfortunate timing as the female smallmouth will abandon their beds in high flow.

I literally went "oh, nice" when I popped up radar. The sun has been breaking out and it's getting breezy and tropical. Im working in my garden. All of my plants are taking off.

The CWG "forecast radar" should really not be shown. It's garbage. It doesn't seem to take into effect the forward speed of storms. If you look at it right now, for example - it indicates the storms/rain in Southern Maryland are just going to rocket northward magically. It also doesn't morph the storms realistically at all...it just takes a snapshot and a general motion and essentially copy and pastes it a increments.

Looks like northeast flow at the surface and southerly flow aloft. Probably enough convergence and limited instability to get a few cells firing up where the sun broke out a bit.

I wonder what ffg is like right now out this way. Lots standing water in the yard and creek remains high. I would think a quick .6+ would cause flash flooding. Storms to the south seem to be pushing in this general direction.
